48 hour vacation to Florida

My family is nothing if not spur of the moment. I can remember when I was little, we would pack for a trip and not decide where we were going until we got in the car. When we went on a month-long trip to Europe, we didn't make hotel reservations and picked where we would stay when we arrived at our destination... and we had the BEST hotel rooms and apartments!

In the family tradition, we decided on Sunday that a family vacation was in order. Tuesday found us at a great hotel, right on the beach in Pensacola, FL. We are definitely not beach people (as evidence, I went to Jamaica and didn't get in the water once) but this trip was amazing. 48 hours is just the right amount of time to spend at the beach!

Now I'm back in B'ham making the final countdown to August 4th. I still feel like I have lots of things to do before school starts, but the first week is mostly orientation so I guess I don't have to freak out just yet.

Listen to Needtobreathe's album "The Heat". You'll thank me later.

I'm so proud of you for posting...I love that your family is so spontaneous. And speaking of your family, my nose is messed up and keeps smelling popcorn in our apartment and it makes me want to have a sleepover at your parents house and make popcorn. I can't wait until I can eat it again...OH! just in case you don't read my blog my parents totally bought me a sweet action telescope for finishing treatments! It's AWESOME. I'll learn how to use it and then we can maybe set it up on your back porch one time when i go...but it's huge, so it may not be that portable. AND we can eat popcorn..I miss you!

Dear Paula, we're all so sad you didn't make it up to see us again. Today I stepped in a big ole slimy stinky mud puddle, I was reminded of you...the dogs and I miss you too.
